I discovered this great song from Alela Diane in the album Folk & Proud by the record label Naïve.
She's from California and tagged as part of the psych folk and New Weird America.
This song it really sounds like a pirate song.. with the low backing vocals, the hand-claps and the rare banjo arrangement ..
Her album bears the same name and was released in 2006.
Had a time with it and must say it's a good folk thing..
